*Welcome*
Rutland Velo Club was created to help Cyclists meet new people in a friendly atomosphere. Since then the cycling club has grown to over 100 members. The club offers bikers a chance to enter events such as starter rides upto competing in races. Anyone can join up from mountain bikers to road, young and old.
The club meets every Wednesday evening at 6.30PM at
Rutland Cycling, Whitwell for a mountain bike ride. Beginner / improver rides take place
from Greetham Garden Centre every Saturday at 11.00AM and a 50 mile road ride takes
place every Sunday from Catmose Street car park in Oakham every week from 9.00AM. The
club is affiliated with Cycling Time Trials Council and British Cycling for those wishing to
race. Membership of British Cycling or CTC is recommended to all active members. It is not
a legal requirement to wear a cycle helmet however it is strongly recommended that one is
worn whilst taking part in club events.
So why join us? Well firstly to get fit! Instead of paying expensive gym fees why not join our cycling club. You can gradually start with a gentle ride leading up to a full blown race. Imagine the achievement you will feel when you win your first race! To view full club runs info click on the "Club Runs" link in the navigation area of the site.
So how much will it cost? Actually not much at all, only £10 for a year. Bargain!
