Enjoy a day packed with cycling fun, from 10 AM to 4 PM on Stamford Recreation Ground. All the activities are FREE and there will be loads for all the family. Just see what we’ve got lined up already...
BIKE DOCTOR & BIKE SECURITY MARKING
Is your bike in need of some TLC? Got a question about maintenance? A simple problem holding you back from enjoying life on 2 wheels? Rutland Cycling’s experts are here to help! We will also be providing bike marking for security in conjunction with Stamford Police.
BIKEABILITY TASTER SESSIONS
Children (9 – 13 years old) can practice and learn fun bike skills with Lincolnshire’s Bikeability team – sessions will be held on the Rec throughout the day and bikes are provided!
BIKE TRY OUT
Want to try out a new bike, a different bike or a plain whacky bike?! We’ve got them all on the Rec for all ages and all abilities to test for free, courtesy of Wheely Fun Wheels and Rutland Cycling.
BLING A BIKE
Children and adults alike can show their bikes some love and go wild with our decorations – then take part in the cycling parade to show off their creativity!
FAMILY CYCLING TREASURE HUNT
Take a small journey around the Rec and find those biking answers – we’ve got prizes for cycling super sleuths!
VINTAGE BIKES, MUSIC, FACE PAINTING & PRIZES
See a display from Britain’s oldest vintage cycling club, enjoy fun face painting for the kids, pedal power-up a Scalextric, juicer and bubbles, join in the closing parade and win some great prizes!

Ride into Britain’s ‘Summer of Cycling’ at Lincolnshire’s first cycling festival. Stamford Arts Centre hosts a weekend of cycling inspired films celebrating our love affair with the bicycle.
SATURDAY 30TH JUNE
SUNDAY 1ST JULY
14:30 - Hell On Wheels
On the very day that the 2012 Tour de France begins get a feeling for the action in this "hardcore" cycling classic of the 2003 edition.
14:30 - Belleville Rendezvous
Chromet's delightful cartoon of a Tour de France rider kidnapped by gangsters and taken to New York with his mum and dog in hot pursuit is a cycling masterpiece.
19:30 - The Flying Scotsman
A brilliantly fictionalised account of the trials and tribulations of Scots cycling genius Graeme Obree. The film will be introduced by Vincent Gibson of Sustrans.
19:30 - A Day Out (1971)
Alan Bennett and director Stephen Frears’ first film, this TV classic follows a group of Yorkshire cyclists in 1911 as they turn a gentle ride into a formal occasion.
SAT 30th JUNE TOUR DE FRANCE PROLOGUE CHALLENGE
Have you got what it takes to ride the Tour de France?
As the pro’s tackle 6.1 km in Liege you can see how you shape up in comparison with our turbo trainer challenge. Ride the identical prologue route on the latest turbo trainer technology and get your name on the Stamford leaderboard! You won’t have to wait three weeks for your prize – Rutland Cycling will be rewarding your efforts on the day!
SUNDAY 1ST JULY - CYCLING EXPO
As well as screening some of the best cycling films around, we’ll be hosting interactive events at the Stamford Arts Centre and providing practical advice to help you rediscover the joys of cycling. From 10.00 to 16.00 you can meet local cycling experts and organisations in the Ballroom and learn how to get back or go further on your bike, whatever your level of interest. With gold medal and Tour de France aspirations at an all time high for Britain now is the time to get on your bike and join in the fun!
