What Bike frame?
For mountain biking, you can go for a hardtail with front fork suspension to soak up the knocks and bumps, but standard rear suspension for lighter overall weight and a more natural feel. Or you can opt for a full-suspension frame with hydraulic shocks all round – the only choice for serious downhillers. Road bike frames are extremely light and thin, and often made from lightweight carbon, but you can opt for a more upright riding position for greater comfort while touring or tight, speed-hungry geometry if you’re a racer with your eyes on the prize.
