David took up distance cycle touring on a whim. It's that sort of casual approach to route planning that has seen him snowbound and locked in derelict Spanish sausage factories, on the run from the Chilean police and pursued by naked maniacs through the streets of Lima. When not engaging in some ill-thought through but highly rewarding cycle tour David is a keen road cyclist and can bore anyone rigid about the mountain passes of la Vuelta.
