Located on Rutland's beautiful North shore, this is our original hire centre, established in 1981 by our founder Dave Archer. Families will love the gentle ride to Normanton, romantics the bluebells of Barnsdale and adventurers the full lap of Britain's biggest man-made lake. You can also hit the heights at our RockBlok climbing centre. Whitwell is one of Britain's biggest bike shops, fully refurbished in 2015 with an incredible range of products and services.
Giant Store Rutland
Giant-Rutland Water, Normanton Car Park,
Start your Rutland adventure at Normanton on the South shore and enjoy our stunning Giant brand store. We have the full 2015 Giant hire bike range, from kids and tandems to the latest road, mountain and electric bikes. There's a friendly Italian restaurant on site, and the route to Whitwell is an easy ride for families. You'll find a beach, mini-golf, play areas and cafes on the way, and we're well located for a visit to the Osprey visitor centre.

Grafham Water is Cambridgeshire's prettiest and best-kept secret. Get straight onto 10 miles of traffic-free waterside track and enjoy the best of the English countryside. A designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, birdlife and flowers abound in a perfect location for a family day out. The more adventurous can venture off-road on mountain bikes. Only 2 miles from the A1, Grafham is perfect for picnics, with grassy play areas and a new visitor centre and cafe.
Fineshade Wood is a Forestry Commission site with plenty to offer families and mountain bike enthusiasts. A charming traffic-free forest trail, perfect for families, winds through woodland famous for Red Kites. Skills sections and the new Scar Tree Trail offer singletrack adventure. Relax with a latte or cuppa back at the visitor centre, while kids can explore the woodland adventure playgrounds and new Superworm trail.
Visit our new hire centre in the heart of Peterborough's beautiful Ferry Meadows. There is so much to experience in this large, family-friendly country park. Pedal the traffic-free routes of Peterborough's Green Wheel. Take the family for a ride around the lakes and banks of the River Nene. Picnic on the parkland, get a spotter sheet for the kids, go bug hunting, try watersports, catch the Nene Valley Steam Railway...Then relax in one of the many cafes and restaurants.

We recommend you book ahead, particulaly at weekends and during summer holidays. We will hold your reserved bikes until 11am.

When hiring a bike, you'll need:
- To pay with a credit or debit card (this is for security purposes)
- An adult to book if you are under 16
- To be responsible for the bike and hire equipment
- To wear appropriate clothing: we recommend breathable, loose fit clothing, a couple of layers and a light showerproof jacket. We don't recommend cycling in sandals or flip flops.
- Booked online? You'll need to bring your confirmation email and a proof of ID.
If you are booking bikes for a group (10 bikes or more), we can sometimes reserve bikes until later in the day - please call our Hire Team to discuss your needs.
