Rides Classes and Events

We are enormously proud of our staff and the many ways they go the extra mile for our customers and the local community. As part of our commitment to inspire more people to get out cycling, we offer a range of regular led rides, including senior cyclist rides and women's rides in partnership with British Cycling's Breeze campaign. These rides are free to attend, and we further encourage participation by offering substantial discounts off cycle hire, so that bike ownership is not a barrier. Read on to find out which rides we are currently running - we look forward to welcoming you on one of our rides soon.


- CiCLE Classic Weekend -

We're proud to be supporting the British Isles only one day international race, the CiCLE Classic. Now in its 10th year the race provides a full weekend of spectacular cycling. As part of the race weekend there are of number of opportunities to get yourself involved.


- An Evening With Matthew Bottrill -

Matthew Bottrill - National 100 Mile, 50 Mile and Circuit Time Trail Champion - will be visiting us on Tuesday 29th April for a talk about power training, his career and the thrill of Time Trail. If you're interested, pop down to our Giant Store Rutland at 18:30. Matthew Will talk from 19:00 until 20:30. We will be offering free food and drinks after the talk so there is no need to worry about dinner. We'll also be offering 15% off our entire range of Triathlon clothing on the night.


- Tri4Life 2014 -

Rutland Cycling is proud to be supporting tri for life as the ‘Official Bike Hire Partner’ for 2014. Taking place on Sunday 7th September 2014, tri for life powered by Prezzo will be returning to the stunning setting of Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire, with the swim, bike and run all being held within the 3000 acres of beautiful deer park, no cars anywhere (maybe just the odd deer!)



- CiCLE Classic Ride Out -

You’re split between getting the miles in this weekend or watching an impressive race on your local lanes, which do you choose? How about both! We’re offering the chance to enjoy riding on some of the same sections of road the race follows while taking you to the very best places to view all the action, from the legendary sprint section through Oakham to Owston where the race passes multiple times.


- Nature Rides -

Lose yourself in Nature… Our nature rides are back and bigger than ever before. We've teamed up with Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust to offer a truly unique combination of cycling, nature and the chance to see the rare Osprey in their natural habitat.


- Rutland Road Ride -

Discover some of Rutland's hidden secrets and glorious country roads that are well maintained - perfect for an evening ride with like-minded people. From Tuesday 1st April, we'll be running a weekly ride where you can enjoy a group ride at a sensible steady speed with the chance to learn a few group riding tactics from our expert ride leaders.


- Senior Cyclist Ride -

The clocks have gone forward, the sun is shining, it's time for our Senior Cyclist Ride to make a comeback. Every Tuesday we'll be leading a short ride from our Normanton Store over to Whitwell - where you'll stop for delicious cake and coffee - and back again.


- Weekly Breeze Women's Ride -

Every Sunday a group of like-minded ladies will be cycling from our Rutland Cycling Whitwell store. The route will take in a leisurely 5.5 mile scenic traffic-free route from Whitwell Leisure park across the dam at Rutland Water to Normanton church and back.


- Mums & Tots Cycling Group -

Are you a new mother and want to start spending some time outside in beautiful surroundings with your new addition to the family? Working in partnership, Rutland Cycling and British Cycling have joined forces to set up a range of female-specific rides - although here at Rutland Cycling we like to be inclusive, and so any Dads and grandparents can join in too.


- Giant 365 Sportive -

In partnership with our friends at Giant, Rutland Cycling plays host to a permanent sportive that can be ridden any day of the year. With two routes options there is something for the seasoned sportive rider who wants to tackle the full 96 mile loop and a shorter option of 62 miles for those feeling a little less energetic.


- Breeze Rides In Huntingdonshire -

As part of British Cycling’s Breeze initiative, this ride is for females only and takes in the full Grafham Reservoir at a leisurely pace.
