The Specialized Epic has always been defined by its commitment to speed with no compromises. The Epic Comp perfectly blends the efficiency of a hardtail with the capability of a full suspension machine for impressively quick results.
The Specialized BRAIN suspension system has been re-engineered for the new Epic and ensures that riding Epic is always fast and fun. The BRAIN system has 100mm of smooth travel front and rear letting the Epic live up to the standard that it was born for, to slash your fastest trail times and raise you up the race rankings. The latest system ensures every watt is converted into forward motion and not wasted on pointless suspension travel whilst still soaking up the impact from bumps and hits as you would expect.
The FACT 11M full carbon frame has been redesigned with a 15% stiffer rear triangle to make full use of BRAIN's tuned pedalling platform. Specialized has also overhauled the carbon layup of the front triangle to shed weight, sending the already sky-high stiffness to weight ratio even further into the clouds.
The RockShox Reba RL fork feature on the Epic Comp. Technology implemented into the SID during development at World Cup events has been trickled down to the Reba RL to provide a race-tested Motion Control damper featuring low-speed compression, lockout and rebound adjustment.
SRAM GX Eagle provides slick and smooth shifting over a wide gearing range to ensure that jumps between cogs are as small as possible. Whilst strong, hassle-free braking performance is provided by the SRAM Level TL hydraulic disc brakes. This means Epic Comp is lightweight on the scale yet heavy on value for money.
Specialized tubeless-ready alloy rims feature a 25mm internal rim width providing an ideal tyre profile for optimal grip on the trails. Make the quick and easy conversion to a tubeless set-up for even more traction, as well as reduced rolling resistance and reduced chances of a flat ruining your ride.
The Epic will take you back to your first taste of real speed. The kind of feeling that has you grinning from ear to ear as you shred the trail and for a good while afterwards, impatient to get back to the top and go again.
