The Details
The new S-Works 7 Lace takes all the performance cues from the pro peloton's preferred shoe (The S-Works 7) and has added a little extra style magic with the lace ups, to create not only one of the best performing shoes but also one of the most comfortable.
Body Geometry sole and footbed are ergonomically designed and scientifically tested to boost power, increase efficiency, and reduce the chance of injury by optimizing hip, knee, and foot alignment. The foundation of this superior stability is Specialized's stiffest and lightest FACT Powerline carbon plate, measuring a massive 15.0 on the Stiffness Index.
The upper is an engineered mesh combining no-stretch TPU zones for the ultimate connection and comfort. While the non-stretch laces provide even hold across the entire foot, the PadLoc heel construction cradles the heel and is proven to actually improve acceleration.
The three-bolt cleat pattern fits all major road pedals, with the titanium alloy cleat nuts rotating to allow a pedal/cleats position 5mm rearward.
Key Features:
- Non-stretch laces provide even hold across the entire foot that stays consistent allride long.
- Specialized's stiffest and lightest FACT Powerline™ carbon plate:Stiffness Index 15.0.
- Approximately 236g per shoe (size 44)
Our Verdict
The performance of the most winningest road shoe in the world combined with non-stretch power laces, meet the new Specialized S-Workds 7 Lace.

Footwear Size Guide
Purchasing a pair of cycling shoes for the first time can lead to a lot of questions. We at Rutland Cycling have over 30 years of shoe fitting experience, so here are some key pointers to look out for when buying a new pair:
1. When deciding what size cycling shoes to get, go with your normal shoe size, as cycling shoes typically run true to size. However, if you’re normally between sizes, for example sometimes you go with a 9 and sometimes a 9.5, it’s recommended that you size up.
2. The best time to measure your feet, or to try shoes on is in the afternoon, as this is when they will be at their largest due to your feet naturally tending to swell throughout the day.
3. Cycling shoes are intended to wrap snuggly around the foot as they have been designed with a specific purpose in mind—pedaling. The goal is to try and provide as much lower leg and arch stability as possible and provide you with a stable pedaling platform.
4. With the cycling industry largely originating in Europe, European sizing is the typical standard. The best way to figure out a specific brand size is use a that brand’s conversion chart. However, below is general sizing conversion chart based off conventional UK shoe sizing.
