Combining Specialized’s new closure system with a Dyneema®-reinforced tongueless sock to deliver comfort, which eradicates unwanted pressure on your tendons allowing you to ride endless miles in absolute comfort. Fine-tune your level of foot-hold on-the-fly with the new, patent-pending closure architecture, Introducing this BOA closing system to customise the fit to exactly what works for you.
S-Works Ares - the fastest Body Geometry shoe ever made. The key to more comfort, less injuries, and higher power output comes from an ergonomically designed, scientifically tested Body Geometry which features a Longitudinal Arch, Varus Wedge, and personalised insoles with a Metatarsal Button. When used in harmony, these three features align the hip, foot, and knee, while also limiting medial/lateral knee movement and maintaining good circulation down to your toes. With the Ares, you get a shoe with no compromises.

Purchasing a pair of cycling shoes for the first time can lead to a lot of questions. We at Rutland Cycling have over 30 years of shoe fitting experience, so here are some key pointers to look out for when buying a new pair:
1. When deciding what size cycling shoes to get, go with your normal shoe size, as cycling shoes typically run true to size. However, if you’re normally between sizes, for example sometimes you go with a 9 and sometimes a 9.5, it’s recommended that you size up.
2. The best time to measure your feet, or to try shoes on is in the afternoon, as this is when they will be at their largest due to your feet naturally tending to swell throughout the day.
3. Cycling shoes are intended to wrap snuggly around the foot as they have been designed with a specific purpose in mind—pedaling. The goal is to try and provide as much lower leg and arch stability as possible and provide you with a stable pedaling platform.
4. With the cycling industry largely originating in Europe, European sizing is the typical standard. The best way to figure out a specific brand size is use a that brand’s conversion chart. However, below is general sizing conversion chart based off conventional UK shoe sizing.
