GP: I have recently bought a Specialized Secteur sport triple from you, it's my first road bike and I feel I should move to clipless pedals but I am a bit nervous to do so. Do you have any recommendations for pedals for a beginner? Thanks
Bike Doc: I hope you are enjoying your new bike and the Secteur is a fantastic first bike! Look Keo and Shimano SPD-SL platforms are often well regarded for those just starting to use a clipless pedal. Make sure you take time to adjust the cleats and try and go for a ride around a soft grassy area whilst you get used to the unclipping motion. Not being able to get your feet out of the pedals at a road junction is often considered a right of passage for many cyclists but it's best avoided if at all possible. Good luck!
We have written a guide to using clipless pedals on the LoveCycling blog. See it here
