CiCLE Classic Race at the Giant Rutland Store

You're split between getting the miles in at the weekend or watching an impressive race on your local lanes, which do you choose? How about both!

We're offering the chance to enjoy riding on some of the same sections of road the race follows while taking you to the very best places to view all the action, from the legendary sprint section through Oakham to Owston where the race passes multiple times.

This ride will be led by our expert ride leaders who's only job is to ensure you have fun and get to the viewing locations in time for the racers to pass by. To get involved with this race simply email us at rides@rutlandcycling.com but hurry as places are limited (and they're bound to go fast!).

The Route

The ride itself will start at 11:00am (please arrive around 10:30am to allow time to get ready) from our Giant Store on the shore of Rutland Water where you will head out to view the first passage of the race just outside the store, after this you will pedal over to Oakham to watch the hotspot sprint and the Junior CiCLE Classic Race.

You will then climb the same hill the racers will tackle and carry over to Cold Overton, here you will catch the race as they descend down into Langham.

Finally you will ride over to Owston via the Somerberg off road section to watch the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th passage of the ride. At Owsten there will be food and drinks available in addition to a village fete style entertainment.

You will then make your way back to the Giant Store via Ridlington and Manton arriving back at the store at 3:30pm. The total distance of the ride will be around 30 miles.

Free Goodie Bag

Everyone who joins us on this impressive ride will receive a goodie back courtesy of Giant and Rouleur magazine.
