Terrago-29-2-Frame

Thanks to a 69 degree head angle coupled with a 73.5 degree seat tube angle, Giant have ensured that these bikes excel on all gradients alike making it perfect for XC riders. Not only are these bikes good for XC racing, if you want to head out with the family, these bikes will allow you to do that comfortably as well as if you wanted to cycle to work. These frames are durable, lightweight and yet stiff which is just the concoction you want for Cross country riding.

Componentry

SLX-Cranks

Both models of Terrago are fitted with a short travel, 100mm suspension fork to soak up the harsh impacts of the terrain you are traversing. The Terrago 1 is fitted with a Rockshox Judy air fork meaning that it is highly tunable and lighter compared to the Suntour Raidon fork equipped on the Terrago 2. The Terrago 1 also sees a 1x drivetrain constructed from a Shimano SLX shifter and a Shimano Deore XT rear derailleur which provides for efficient shifting whilst under load.

Advantages of a 29er -

29 inch wheels have been around for quite a few years now and some might argue that they are even more popular than 27.5 inch wheels. For XC racing, 29ers seem to be the trend considering they are faster rolling and more stable whilst flying over rocky terrain. Furthermore, for every turn of the cranks you will do more rotations of the back wheel compared to what you would on a 27.5 inch wheel.

Maxxis-Ikon

Giant have recognised this common cross country trend of using 29ers and have chosen to build their bike from the wheels upwards to create the dream XC Hardtail MTB. Couple this with Maxxis Ikon 29x2.2 tyres and you have the ultimate XC bike set up which combines speed with stability.
