Rutland Cycling has successfully secured an investment worth nearly £3 million. The investment, that has come from the Business Growth Fund (BGF) will be used to expand our footprint beyond its current East Midlands heartland.

What does this investment mean for Rutland Cycling?

We are anticipating a new store will open as soon as winter 2014. Although still undisclosed, the new store will offer the same kind of unrivalled customer service that our current stores offer and promises to deliver the incredible experience you'd expect from a Rutland Cycling store. Whether you're a road cyclist, mountain biker, commuter or triathlete, looking for a new bike, bike part or an item of clothing to complement your cycling arsenal, each of our stores will be perfectly placed to cater for your needs.

This exciting investment from the BGF, who are backed by five of Britain's largest banks, means that Keith Pacey, former chairman of Maplins electronics will take on the same role in a non-executive capacity at Rutland Cycling and Keith Fleming, former finance director at DIY giant B&Q, will also join the board.

As well as considerable investment into our physical footprint, our eCommerce platform will benefit from significant development. Our existing stores will receive a refurbishment and re-fit.

We are extremely pleased to be opening a new chapter, one that will bring exciting developments for our customers and our people. Our vision is to be Britain's best cycling destination, and our staff have worked incredibly hard over the last year to be recognised as both the UK's Best Independent Bike Retailer and Women's Independent Bike Retailer of the year in recent months.
