The Campus Commute

Universities across the UK are looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint. From energy management solutions to environmental policies, it has to be said that our education institutions are far ahead of many businesses in the sustainability race. As part of the drive towards carbon neutrality, many universities are undergoing regular travel surveys to monitor staff and student travel patterns. The results of these surveys are used to develop strategies that encourage students towards the use of more sustainable modes of transport.

Using statistics from student travel surveys by twenty of the UK's top universities, we have explored how cycling to university could help reduce the impact student travel has on the environment.

Are you a student? Read on to find out not only how you can reduce your carbon footprint, but how you can save money and get fit too.
