Rutland Cycling Road Demo Days. Spotlight on Trek

Trek Bicycles

At the Rutland Cycling Road Demo days we love to take the opportunity to show case the very best that the cycling world has to offer.

Trek are at the forefront of bicycle design and have never been a company to rest on it’s laurels. Every year it seems that the R&D department have innovated, tweaked and redesigned their bikes, all in the name of making cyclists faster, comfortable and more efficient.

Treks commitment to this is easily observed. Personally witnessing the Madone design changes over the years has been very interesting. Monocoque carbon has been replaced by the OCLV process for all carbon models. Frames are assembled from carbon sections that have undergone special compression techniques to close the layers together eliminating gaps between. Lugged sections mean that excess material can be removed from the interior resulting in a lightweight, great handling frame.

It’s not about producing a bike solely for going fast, it’s about producing a bike that compliments the efforts of the rider, gets the best out of them and enables them to ride to their best ability irrespective of what the road is putting in their way. The Rutland Demo day is a great opportunity for cyclists to get the feel for this and get an understanding of what they are really capable of when riding a Trek. Trek's Mark Jaggard

Trek’s desire to see riders be their best was elevated by the introduction of their IsoSpeed De-coupler on the acclaimed Trek Domane. The de-coupler at the intersection of the top and seat tube allows fore and aft saddle movement whilst leaving pedalling efficiency unaffected. This alongside the specifically designed fork removes the rider from the ‘noise’ of the road surface leaving them to get on with putting out the power. If you want proof that comfort equals performance look no further than Fabian Cancellara’s string of wins on its saddle.

Reading about it is one thing but if you want to experience what makes a Trek a special bike to ride you need to get on one. The Rutland Cycling Road Demo Days on the 12th and 13th of April at Grafham and Whitwell are your best opportunity to ride and get expert advice from Mark and his team.

We’ll see you there.
