Unique outer plate design has been developed to reduce the chance of chain suck while the inner plates provide better contact with the gears to provide smoother shifting under high load, more efficient pedalling, increased rigidity and near silence running. In addition an open design of the links increases the chain's ability ro shed mud.
Mushrooming of the pins combined with a chromising treatment on the whole chain ensures durability and side-plate retention, enabling the XT HG95 10 Speed Chain to far exceed the BS/ISO standard for breaking force. Sil-Tec surface treatment and corrosion resistant Zinc-alloy plating creates a chain that is smooth running and highly resistant to the forces of nature.
HG-X 10 Speed
HG-X (Hyperglide-X) uses a directional design with specifically shaped inner and outer plates that boost shifting performance over the chainset and cassette. The HG-95 Chain is optimised specifically for Shimano 10 Speed MTB drivetrains and are not compatible with 10 speed SRAM systems.
