As the ground changes from hard to soft, small blocks penetrate the ground surface to connect you to the trail. Small surface centre knobs also increase the load on the ground and help surface penetration, while the shoulder knob row provides support in fast turns on all surfaces. GRIPTON® compound improves high frequency damping to attach the tyre to the ground over rough sections. This lets the low frequencies of the tyre deflections pass through unfiltered, so you don't lose any speed. The Black Diamond casing strikes the balance between suppleness and extreme pinch flat protection.
 
In this Specialized Hillbilly Black Diamond 2Bliss Ready, only the treaded part of the tyre needs to conform, grip, and dampen, while the tyre base offers stability and support for steering inputs. This all creates the perfect mountain bike front tyre for intermediate to soft terrain.
