Bike Shop Whitwell
Our flagship cycling store is located on Rutland Water's beautiful North Shore
and is the home of our original cycle hire centre, established in 1981 by our
founder Dave Archer.
The store is home to a large workshop staffed by passionate tranined mechanics.
Also on site, we have a BikeFit service to help you get the most out of your
rides, and an unrivalled cycle hire offering to get you out and peddling about
in no time.
Nestling amongst the green fields of rural Rutland and lying on the North Shore
of Rutland Water, there are few locations in the UK that can rival its position
for both cycling and natural beauty. Rutland Water itself is an artificial lake
created in the Gwash valley and is host to a wide range of wildlife, from
ospreys to otters, and leisure activities as diverse as climbing and mini-golf.
It is certainly a year round attraction for both families and cyclists alike.
The cycle track, that runs around the perimeter of the water, is a fantastic ride
in both the sunny afternoons of summer and the brisk frosty winter mornings we
get in the latter half of the year. It was the inspiration for the founding of a
shop that would provide bike hire to people who wanted to get out and explore
the natural surrounding area.
Over the years the shop has expanded to meet the swelling number of people who
have taken up cycling and is now amongst the largest cycle stores in the UK.
Whitwell offers a comprehensive selection of bikes, e-bikes, clothing, parts and accessories from
leading brands such as Specialized, Scott, Altura, Endura, Gore, Thule,

abilities. Whether you're looking for a family bike for those pleasant weekend
rides, a hybrid bike for those weekday commutes or your next race-ready steed,

the expertise to help you find what you want.
On top of the fantastic range of quality cycling products, we love to contribute
to our community and run a very active calendar of rides and events throughout
the year. This includes maintenance classes and demo days as well as rides aimed
at silver cyclists, Mums and Tots and Breeze Women's rides, in conjunction with
British Cycling.

additional items and services to make your day fun, safe and enjoyable

Our Whitwell store is home to a dedicated electric bike centre. You don’t
need to make an appointment; just drop in and see us anytime, we’re near
the popular Harbour Café at Whitwell Creek, so why not enjoy a spot of
lunch or a coffee whilst you’re here? We pride ourselves on our in-store,
friendly team of trained, experienced e-bike specialists and we offer a wide
range of services, including sales, hire, part exchange, servicing and repairs,
battery testing, replacement batteries, diagnosis and inspection, custom build,
wheel building and tyre fitting. For your convenience, we offer a free home
delivery service when you order an electric bike online, or you can choose to
