Crossing the bridge the bridge between XC, CX and gravel racing kit, here's the new S-Works Recon cycling shoe.
For XC, CX and gravel cyclists the new S-Works Recon shoe has an upper with the features of the SW7 road shoe bonded onto the existing SW6 XC sole plate. Specialized's stiffest and lightest mixed-terrain FACT carbon plate maximizes power transfer.
Blend this with a comfortable and durable one-piece upper which is made from bonding mesh, TPU, and Dyneema to create a sock-like fit across the foot and an impressive amount of hold. It's a laser cut piece that wraps around the midfoot and uses their zonal closure system around the foot so that you have the most secure fit. The inside of the tongue has more padding to protect the dorsal pedis artery that runs across the top of the instep - increasing blood flow, and therefore comfort to the foot.
To complete the line up, the SlipNot™ rubber heel and toe tread are made for confident traction on all terrain. Mix this with undeniable style and you've got off-road shoes that are ready for any kind of adventure, whether it's gravel, cyclocross, or XC riding.
- Absolute power - with a carbon outsole, the Recon’s ultralight and ultra-stiff carbon sole gives you maximum power transfer. Rubber heel and toe lugs add traction during those hike-a-bike moments.
- S3 Boa - alloy BOA® dials feature spring-clutch internals and one-millimetre micro-adjustments. Durable and precise - exclusively Specialized.
- Toe bumper - with added protection to the front, this toe bumper prevents rips, holes, and bruised toes.
- Padlock heel - this locks your foot into the shoe. Paired with the Dyneema uppers, Padlock creates the most comfortable and efficient fit, allowing every bit of power to reach the pedals.
- Dyneema - the S-Works Recon conforms to the contours of your foot for slipper-like comfort without any power loss. That’s because it’s made from Dyneema® an incredibly strong, lightweight and malleable fibre.
