The Details

Specialized's Torch 2.0 Road Shoes are high performance road shoes that are designed with comfort in mind.

The Specialized Torch range sought to provide as much comfort and high level performance as possible whilst maintaining a competitive price, and its fair to say that Specialized have achieved this.

The comfort all comes from the shoe's construction; where many high-end road shoes can be tight and end up pinching you're feet, the Torch 2.0's 100% mesh and TPU construction means for a much less constrictive fit and a much more sock-like feel.

And whilst many of you may think that you're sacraficing stiffness-and consequently performance-this is not the case.

The carbon-composite sole is of medium stiffness so you still get efficient energy transfer, but you can wear them all day long. The rubber heel and toe are also handy features, offering traction when you're not on the saddle.

The single lightweight Boa IP1 dial offers quick and simple adjustment capabilites, meaning you can adjust on the go with ease

  • Three-bolt cleat pattern fits all major road pedals
  • Approximate weight: 235g
  • Body Geometry sole construction

Footwear Size Guide

Purchasing a pair of cycling shoes for the first time can lead to a lot of questions. We at Rutland Cycling have over 30 years of shoe fitting experience, so here are some key pointers to look out for when buying a new pair:

1. When deciding what size cycling shoes to get, go with your normal shoe size, as cycling shoes typically run true to size. However, if you’re normally between sizes, for example sometimes you go with a 9 and sometimes a 9.5, it’s recommended that you size up.

2. The best time to measure your feet, or to try shoes on is in the afternoon, as this is when they will be at their largest due to your feet naturally tending to swell throughout the day.

3. Cycling shoes are intended to wrap snuggly around the foot as they have been designed with a specific purpose in mind—pedaling. The goal is to try and provide as much lower leg and arch stability as possible and provide you with a stable pedaling platform.

4. With the cycling industry largely originating in Europe, European sizing is the typical standard. The best way to figure out a specific brand size is use a that brand’s conversion chart. However, below is general sizing conversion chart based off conventional UK shoe sizing.
