Brand new for 2019, the Liv EnviLiv is the ultimate women's aero road bike. Featuring women's specific race geometry and a fully-integrated cockpit, the EnviLiv has set the benchmark for female aero road bikes.

About the brand

Liv is the first cycling brand designed solely for women, ranging from performance bikes to beginner bikes Liv is for every female and every rider. Liv was created by women, for women, so you can be confident that the bike you're purchasing is fine-tuned for women.

This year, Liv have revamped their award-winning Liv Envie into the EnviLiv. This year, the bikes feature disc brakes (except one model) and redesigned frames. So if you're in the market for a new race bike, read on to find out more about this incredible range.

The Frame

The EnviLiv is made from an advanced-grade carbon composite frame, putting stiffness in the forefront and offering a lightweight frame with optimal compliance. Alongside the composite frame, the EnviLiv features AeroSystem shaping technology. This means the tubes are are engineered using computational fluid dynamics and wind-tunnel data to ensure each part of the frame is as aerodynamic as it can be. What this means for you as the rider is a faster bike that slices through the wind and fly's up every climb.

The EnviLiv has a PowerCore, this translates to an 86mm wide bottom-bracket for increased stiffness and asymmetric chainstays to give you increased stiffness on the driveside and more stability on the non-driveside. Another technology in this bike is the OverDrive 2, this is Liv's most advanced steerer tube technology, offering incredible front-end steering performance. This translates to increased steering stiffness to power you through every sprint.

The EnviLiv series was crafted using Liv's 3F Design Philosophy; Fit, Form and Function. Liv have analysed data varying parts of the female anatomy, then taken into consideration the type of riding the rider will be doing to create the perfect frame. The componentry of the bikes and the composite layering is created to give the rider unrivalled performance and edge. This means a bike designed completely from the ground up to give the rider the best performance and feel.

The Groupset

The EnviLiv range comes with a mixture of Shimano 105, Ultegra and Ultegra Di2, with the latter two featuring in the EnviLiv Advanced Pro 1 and 0. The engineers over at Liv worked together with Shimano to develop the ergonomics of the EnviLiv range to offer a new narrower Shimano 105 brake and shift levers for those of us with smaller hands.

With a 52/32T crankset and 11 speed cassette, you'll be set up for any hill, road or race. Within the chainstay is the RideSense wireless transmitter, the removable transmitter records your wheel speed and cadence and this can be read directly from any ANT+ compatible computer.

The Wheels

Except the EnviLiv Advanced 2, all bikes in the range come with Giants SLR 1 wheels. SLR 1 is the second model down from Giants top of the range wheels but still come some impressive features. SLR 1's are made with ultralight composite rims and weigh in at 1670g per wheelsystem.

The SLR 1's are both UCI and ITU legal meaning they are the perfect wheelset for racing both road and triathlon.

The Brakes

Brand new for 2019, the EnviLiv has embraced disc brakes with all but two moving over. All have hydraulic disc brakes, varying from 105 to Ultegra, meaning greater stopping power and control when out riding and racing.
